Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the app — your email and the rewards you create. No ads. No third-party analytics or tracking. We never sell your data. You can permanently delete your account and everything in it, at any time, from inside the app.
1. Who we are
Earning It ("we", "us", "our") is a goal and motivation app operated from Australia. This policy explains what information we handle when you use the Earning It app for iOS or Android, or visit earningitapp.com. Questions any time: support@earningitapp.com.
2. What we collect
Account information
- Email address and password — used to create and sign in to your account. Passwords are stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider; we never see or store your plain-text password.
Content you create
- Rewards, tasks, progress logs, notes and dates you enter in the app.
- Images you attach to rewards. If you attach a photo, it is resized on your device and stored in private cloud storage linked to your account, accessible only via short-lived signed links. We do not access your photo library beyond the images you explicitly pick.
Purchase information
- Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play — we never see your card number or billing details. Our subscription provider (RevenueCat) tells us only your purchase status (for example "subscription active"), linked to a pseudonymous app identifier, so the app can unlock your access.
What we do not collect
- No advertising identifiers, no ad networks.
- No third-party analytics or behavioural tracking SDKs.
- No tracking of you across other companies' apps or websites.
- No contacts, location, health data or background sensor data.
- The website has no cookies, no analytics and no third-party behavioural tracking.
Website waitlist (optional)
- If you choose to join the pre-launch waitlist on earningitapp.com, we collect only the email address you enter. It is processed by our forms provider Formspree and delivered to us so we can email you when the app launches — we don't use it for anything else. You can ask us to remove you any time at support@earningitapp.com.
3. How we use your information
- To provide the service: store and sync your rewards and progress across sign-ins.
- To verify purchases and unlock the app's paid features.
- To send notifications you schedule (reminders are handled on your device).
- To respond when you contact support.
- To meet legal obligations, and to keep the service secure.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Where your data lives & how it's protected
Your account and content are stored with Supabase, our database, authentication and storage provider, on infrastructure that encrypts data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Reward images live in a private storage bucket scoped to your account. Access to production data is limited to what is needed to operate the service.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard steps to protect your information.
5. Service providers we rely on
- Supabase — authentication, database and file storage (privacy policy).
- RevenueCat — subscription status management (privacy policy).
- Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing and app distribution, under their own terms and privacy policies.
- Formspree — processes the optional website waitlist form (privacy policy).
- Cloudflare — website hosting and email routing for support@earningitapp.com (privacy policy).
These providers process data on our behalf to run the service and are not permitted to use it for their own advertising. Their servers may be located outside Australia (for example in the United States); by using the app you consent to this transfer, which is protected by the safeguards above.
6. Deleting your account & your data
In the app: Settings → Delete Account. This permanently erases your account, rewards, progress history, notes and images from our systems. It cannot be undone.
By email: if you can't access the app, email support@earningitapp.com from your account email and we will delete your account and data, normally within 30 days.
Purchase records held by Apple or Google are managed by them under their own policies — deleting your Earning It account does not cancel an active subscription; cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.
7. Data retention
We keep your data only while your account exists. When you delete your account it is removed from our production systems immediately, with residual copies in encrypted backups expiring on a rolling basis shortly after.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the Australian Privacy Principles, and the GDPR if you are in the EU/UK), you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to complain to a data protection authority. To exercise any of these, email support@earningitapp.com — we'll respond promptly.
9. Children
Earning It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we'll update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will be flagged in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
